Meet the Swedish My Way team

Hej!

I'm Andrea, and I've been teaching Swedish online for the past 8 years. I have a teaching degree and studied Swedish as my degree, but what really connects me with my students is that I've been where they are. I rememeber wondering if I'd ever understand native speakers or be able to keep up with the pace of real conversations.

Now I help people who live in Sweden, or are planning to move there, find their voice in Swedish. Not just grammar rules or vocabulary lists, but everyday communication, with their Swedish partner, with colleagues at work, or at family gatherings.

And here's something I'm proud of: I don't even live in Sweden, but when I visit, the passport control officers have actually asked me if I have uppehållstillstånd (residence permit) after hearing me speak. It reminds me that fluency isn't about your location, it's about having the right guidance and sticking with it.

Outside of the online classroom, I love working out, dancing, or hiking in the mountains. In my free time, I enjoy learning new languages. Along with my passion for languages, I’m also deeply interested in psychology and entrepreneurship, and I’m always looking for new ways to learn and grow.

Hej!

I'm Marija, and I'm a graduate Swedish teacher. I genuinely love helping people learn Swedish from scratch, there's something about those early "aha!" moments that never gets old.

I like to keep lessons structured because I think it helps, but I also try to make sure it doesn't feel intimidating. I just want people to feel comfortable while they're learning, like they can ask questions without worrying about looking silly.

Just like Andrea, I’m also a proud non - native speaker of Swedish, which means that everything I share with my students, I’ve experienced myself first hand.

My friends would probably describe me as easy - going and a bit artsy. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me on stage acting, or diving into yet another language. I think my love for languages comes from the same place as my love for acting, they're both about stepping into someone else's world and making it your own.

Hejsan!

I’m Vanja, a graduate Swedish teacher with more than five years of teaching experience. I’ve worked with both children and adults, and I’ve even taught Swedish at university level, which was a completely different challenge that shaped me immensely as a teacher.

My love for Sweden truly started during a summer course in Dalarna, where I immersed myself in the language and culture through local handicrafts, traditional dances, and conversations with the locals. Somewhere between painting wooden ornaments and learning folk dances, I realized that Swedish was more than just a language to me.

As a teacher, I bring structure, warmth, and understanding. I know that learning Swedish can feel overwhelming at times, but I also know how rewarding it is when things start to make sense. And there’s nothing better than seeing that moment happen for someone else.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me doing arts and crafts, practicing yoga, or exploring yet another foreign language. I’m drawn to anything that allows me to create, but not because of the product itself, but because I try to make the most out of the process.
